Mass media influence on the political agenda

This subproject investigates the interplay between mass media and politicians through statistical analyses. Do mass media in reality control the political agenda and "force" political parties to pay attenton to certain issues or do political parties pick up the issues in the mass media that they find attractive and ignore others? The latter would imply that mass media are dependent upon party political incentive to bring issue into the political agenda.
